FAQ’s
Yes, next day rentals start at 2pm. Arrive anytime 2pm-close to pick up rentals for the following day at no additional charge.
Yes, you can return as late as 9am during the winter season (12pm summer season) the following morning for no additional charge.
You can’t reserve these items. We keep a large supply in-store and can set you up when you pick up. We will apply the 20% reservation discount towards this gear if you’ve reserved other equipment.
Rentals can take 5-30+ minutes depending on the type of equipment and the group size. If you’ve rented before and want the same equipment, you can reserve so we have your gear ready for you when you come in. We suggest giving yourself a little extra time in case we’re busy and so we can make sure to dial in your fit. We’ll hustle to help you as quickly as we can, but we won’t compromise on getting you the right gear and setting it up correctly. You can come in as early as 2pm to pick up rentals for the next day.
No. Damage from rails and boxes is considered abuse and isn’t covered by the damage waiver. You could potentially be charged full replacement price for damaged equipment whether or not you’ve paid for the damage waiver.
The damage waiver covers all damage sustained during regular use of the equipment. It does not cover loss, theft, or abuse. Hitting metal features (i.e. rails, boxes) in the terrain park is considered abuse, and is not covered. Other examples of abuse: skiing through the parking lot, clicking skis together on the lift, running the equipment over with a car, dropping equipment on a hard surface, and more.
Yes, for our demo boards. Our sport boards are only compatible with our rental bindings. Please make a note in your reservation or simply let us know during a walk-in rental.
No, our skins are custom cut and matched to our rental fleet. A skin that doesn’t match properly can perform less reliably and get damaged, decreasing its lifespan.
We’re always stoked to help your friends and family! Bring them in and show us your VIP card at the register, and we’ll apply all available discounts to their rentals, purchases, and service work.
Unfortunately there’s no way to apply an additional discount in the reservation form. Though we are equipped to refund any amount you paid beyond your VIP discount rate when you come pick up, it can be simpler to pick up as a walk-in. Most of our rental gear (sport ski/board, cross country, snowshoe, etc.) comes in big fleets, and we are well-supplied during the non-holiday weekdays that offer the largest discount for seasonal renters and their groups. If you have specific gear requests (specific demo ski/board, backcountry, cross country extra wide), it’s probably worth reserving so we can make sure that gear is available for you. Again, if you reserve and the discount for your dates is better than the reservation discount, we will calculate your correct price and issue a refund for the difference on pickup.
Skier type is a value you choose (1, 2, or 3) that affects your ski binding release setting. The goal is to calibrate the bindings so that your boot will release under abnormal force (a fall) while staying clipped in during normal skiing. The easiest way to figure out your type is to compare your skiing to these images:

A higher skier type means we will set a higher binding tension relative to your height, weight, age, and boot sole length. More cautious skiers will benefit from a lower skier type (1). More aggressive skiers will benefit from a higher skier type (3). Many skiers fall in the middle and use a moderate skier type (2).
Lots of places! Eldora is our local mountain. Loveland, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Copper, and Winter Park are common day trips. Just beyond are Vail, Beaver Creek, Steamboat, and Monarch. For cross country skiing and snowshoeing, we often recommend the nearby trails in the Indian Peaks Wilderness or Rocky Mountain National Park. Call 303-449-7669 or come in and we can help decide on the best options for you.
Yes, we are open on all holidays. We are open with limited hours (9am-3pm) on Christmas Day. The only day we aren’t open is our end-of-season ski day in the Spring (usually second week of May). Unless otherwise specified on our website, you can assume we’ll be open for normal hours every day. View current/regular hours.
We start collecting seasonal rental returns in mid-April, when resorts start closing, but we want you to get the most out of your ski season. If you want to ski until the last day of Colorado’s season (usually Arapahoe Basin’s closing day), go for it! That being said, we appreciate getting gear back as soon as you’re done with it so we can start preparing it for next season. Once the last Colorado ski area closes for the winter, you must return your season rental within one week (7 calendar days) or renew your rental for the following winter.
The tune shop is open year-round! Many of our long-time customers get their tunes done at the end of the season to avoid scrambling after next season’s first snow. We can repair and tune your skis/boards and apply a summer storage wax to keep them in pristine shape until you’re ready to start your season.
No, however all alpine ski and snowboard season renters get VIP discounts (20-50% off) on cross country, A/T, and splitboard single or multi-day rentals. You can apply these discounts to anyone you’re skiing/riding with! We also offer a try-before-you-buy program for our cross country gear.
No, having gear physically present allows us to work as efficiently as possible and avoid any possible miscommunications between check-in and check-out. As we check in work, our service team plans batches to make the most out of our equipment and personnel. Having your gear in-shop gives us the opportunity to finish the work as soon as we can.
No, though we can offer some tips. Most mountains have physical ticket offices, but booking a few days in advance online will often help you save. Some mountains offer mid-week specials. Call 303-449-7669 if we can help point you in the right direction.
